Scholarly and professional activities

 

Panorama Conference

Created and organize annual “Panorama” arts conference at Bakersfield College.

 

Panorama 5 - "A Digital Scavenger Hunt" was a chance to bring high school colleagues into the digital lab for an evening of photography and digital montage.
 
Panorama 4: "A Dialectic with Joseph Cornell" was an opportunity for Kern County high school visual art teachers to network with college and high school colleagues, and do it in a workshop environment.
 
Panorama 3: Terri Asher (illustration), Holly Hart (environmental design), Mary Laporte (graphic design), Kyle Northway (advertising) spoke to college students about their careers.
 
Panorama 2 - Todd Ellison (web design), Dave Jerrard (Lightwave expert), Gita Lloyd (illustration), Frank Holihan (graphic design), Tony Romain (motion graphics), Greg Iger (photography) discussed their work and career paths.
 
Panorama 1 - Justin Clark (graphic design), Brian Collins (graphic design), Glenn Hammett (newspaper design), Donna Tracy (3D animation) advised students on careers in the visual arts.

 

 

Documentary and Book

Currently working to expand my MFA thesis concerning west coast process art of the 1970s. To date, I have researched, interviewed, and written about Laddie John Dill, George Geyer, Charles Christopher Hill, Tom McMillin, Eugene Sturman, and Ted Kerzie.

 

 

Public Art

Worked as designer on team to build "Eclipse." Sculpture is installed at CSUB Business Development Center. Commissioned by private patron. Can be seen online at:
steelsculpture.netfirms.com.

 

Curatorial

Curated exhibit for Bakersfield Museum of Art "Parallel Play and Hybrids," an exhibition featuring the work of Ted Kerzie and Joyce Kohl.
